Trish Northey

The essence that I am after is movement and energy. I am attracted to weather patterns and the dynamics of meteorology. What attracts me to weather patterns is that they change. They have beat, tempo and intervals in the same way as music has. The mood, light and speed of its passing effects the way we feel. These movements, their force and tempo are what I aim to transcribe onto the picture plane creating pathways along which the eye can follow. The medium I am currently using is acrylic. I enjoy exploring the versatility of the medium and the effects that can be created. I exhibit at Next Door Gallery and Northart and live on the North Shore which supports my strong affiliation with the sea.
