Richard Wells

Richard’s artwork captures moments in life revealing movement and emotion. Using traditional techniques and the ancient medium of bronze Richard’s artworks tell human stories in a contemporary context.

Born and raised in the South Island, Richard now lives in Auckland with his wife Nicky and their 3 children. Richard works out of his studio in Ellerslie and is the owner of Artworks bronze art casting foundry.

Represented by Parnell Gallery in Auckland, Min Kim Gallery in Christchurch, Loyal Design Store in Wellington, Inspirit Studio and Gallery in Hamilton, and Central Art Gallery in Queenstown, Richard’s sought after, collectable works are held in collections both here and overseas including in the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa’s permanent collection.
