Kathryn Carter

Kathryn paints the landscapes, seascapes and islands of Northland and the Hauraki Gulf area in inks on paper and oils on canvas. She is particularly interested in capturing the atmosphere of the islands and landforms as the light changes through the day and with the seasons.
She is a resident artist at Railway Street Studios in Newmarket. Kathryn was a finalist in the 2016 Waikato Art Awards with the partner painting of "Motuihe Escarpment, Rakino, Resting Place of the Winds" and the 2017 Molly Morpeth Canaday Whakatane Art Awards with two oils, "This Summer Past" and "Late Autumn in the Far North".
Kathryn has work in local and international collections.
