Vivien Davimes

Vivien Davimes is an award winning local artist and printmaker, working from her studio and home gallery at Waiake Beach; her passion for the sea is reflected in her works.

Her formal art school training in the UK was in textile design. With the acquisition of an etching press, she now produces lino/mono prints and Intaglio etchings; which involves metal plates being etched with acid. This combined with other processes, produce her beautiful multi coloured prints, in small varied limited editions of just 12-15. Although the prints are from the same plate, no two are ever the same, as they are inked individually; a process called - a la poupeé. These are not mass produced prints, but each one is a unique piece of art, lovingly produced; just applying the ink to a large plate can take several hours.

Vivien is an active member of various national/local print and art groups.
