Damian Kerr

Auckland based painter Damian Kerr creates contemporary seascape works that explore environmental concerns. His tight control of the image make his oil paintings appear as works of realism from a distance; and dynamic and painterly surfaces up close.

Exploding onto the art scene in 2017, Damian's work is now in very high demand. Exhibiting in two NZ galleries, his work hangs in private collections in NZ, Australia, China and London. He has already completed two major commissions in 2018.
Damians most recent exhibition is "Seize the Light" at Black Door Gallery Parnell, March 2018.

​The seascapes seem luscious and attractive but are Auckland's industrial harbours. "I try to capture a special moment, something pretty between the chemical pipes."
