Wow! What a wonderful weekend of art set up at the Milford Cruising Club at their very special location on Milford Beach. The weather was perfect, the bubbles flowed on Friday evening as art enthusiasts, sponsors and artists mingled and admired the eclectic mix of art, sculpture, glass and ceramics on display. Even the Shore to Shore Fun Run on Sunday morning added to the festival atmosphere!
As an inaugural fundraising event, Art at the Marina has made a significant contribution towards the improvements to facilities for the benefit of the growing Milford community.
The club has big plans to improve their facilities to be more user-friendly and become a vibrant community hub. They’re also keen to extend the junior sailing programme. First up will be the addition of a lift for disability access.
The sale of art works last weekend totaled approximately $90,000, and it’s hardly surprising. The turnout was excellent, the art works beautiful and an excellent team of volunteers from the club brought it all together for a very entertaining couple of days. Commodore Tim Turner was delighted with the number of people who came through, who were able to see the wonderful facilities that the club has to offer.
Thank you to the artists, art buyers, sponsors, members of the MCC and the tireless efforts of the AATM Committee and their supporters for contributing to this exhibition and making it such a success.
